I am currently a student of the Informatics major at Hanoi–Amsterdam High School for the Gifted (2023–2026). Alongside my academic interests in technology and computer science, football (soccer) is one of my greatest passions and an essential part of my daily life.
Studying Informatics requires long hours of concentration, logical thinking, and problem-solving. Because of this demanding academic environment, football plays a crucial role in helping me maintain balance between intellectual work and physical activity. Playing football allows me to release stress, refresh my mind, and return to my studies with renewed focus and motivation.
How Football Supports My Personal Development
Football has helped me develop important skills that go beyond physical fitness. Through regular training and matches, I have learned the value of discipline, teamwork, and responsibility. On the field, every decision matters, and every player has a role. This has taught me how to communicate effectively, cooperate with teammates, and respect shared goals.
The fast-paced nature of football has also improved my decision-making under pressure. Being able to analyze situations quickly and adapt to changing circumstances is a skill that strongly aligns with Informatics, where logical reasoning and flexibility are essential.
Football and Mental Resilience
One of the most valuable lessons football has taught me is mental resilience. Winning builds confidence, while losing encourages reflection and improvement. Football has helped me stay calm, patient, and determined, even when facing challenges. These qualities are equally important in academic pursuits, especially when dealing with complex problems or difficult tasks.
Building a Healthy and Active Lifestyle
Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is a priority for me. Football helps me stay physically active, improve endurance, and develop a strong sense of self-discipline. Regular physical activity has also enhanced my concentration and overall well-being, allowing me to perform better in both academic and personal activities.
For me, football is not just a sport—it is a meaningful passion that supports my growth both mentally and physically. It helps shape my discipline, strengthens my character, and plays an important role in my journey as a student striving for continuous improvement.
